Outlook Is Bright for the 2017 Housing Market – 2 Expert Opinions

It seems like a couple articles discussing the 2017 housing market are appropriate for my first post of the New Year.  Reviewing my Inoreader RSS feeds yesterday brought these two articles to my attention.

Analysts say the US is likely to experience another housing boom soon – Mortgage Professional News – Michael Mata

“analysts are expecting the surge in housing demand to boost housing supply”

The first article is from the Mortgage Professionals Association.  The MPA sees strong growth in housing this year supported by gains in new construction.  Growth in new construction will certainly benefit other segments of the economy including the purchases of existing homes.

Pending Home Sales Foreshadow Strong 2017 Housing Market – The Mortgage Reports News Desk

The second article is very interesting as well.  This article appeared in The Mortgage Reports.  Pending home sales are the aggregate homes under contract but have yet to close.   What makes the Pending Homes Sales Index so interesting is the forward looking nature of the information.  Most housing reports are based on data which happened in the past.  This index is what will happen in the future.

Both of these articles are excellent data points for the financial health of our industry.  Hopefully, we will start 2017 with robust growth.  Please feel free to call, email, or text to continue the dialogue.

Enjoy the articles and I wish you a prosperous 2017.  Happy House Hunting!
